Behind the Design: How We Designed and Developed the New Responsive Make-up Designory Website
Long-time client Make-up Designory has come a long way with their renowned makeup schools and cosmetics line since we fully rebranded them almost a decade ago. Their schools had grown to a global network of licensees and education partners and their cosmetics line had expanded in distribution and offerings. As part of our work in launching a full digital marketing and advertising campaign, we were tasked with elevating the design and messaging of their school site to communicate their industry position as a leading makeup school.
One of our main objectives in the new design was to convey a strong sense of artistry and community. Since the site had to appeal both to high school aged potential students and their parents, it was important to balance an inspiring design with a professional presentation of their educational offerings. We presented three concepts that all communicated the immersion of a MUD education in varying degrees. Each was complete with a unique layout, navigation style, messaging, and hierarchy of information. All concepts were presented with custom desktop and mobile designs.
The selected design embodied MUD’s brand personality and effectively communicated its unique selling points with clever marketing copy. The site was developed with all the bells and whistles of contemporary responsive website design including video, parallax scrolling, and animating elements.
