“Russian Banksy” and Street Artist Pasha P183
Pasha P183, a prominent graffiti artist who was known as the “Russian Banksy,” passed away earlier this week at age 29. Like his more famous contemporary British street artist Banksy, Pasha hid his identity and also started his graffiti career by painting in the dead of night, which led to his being detained numerous times by the police. One of his most famous works was painted on the ground in a snow-covered yard and features a huge pair of glasses, with a lamppost serving as one arm.
Though much of Pasha’s work was political in nature, there is a close link between the work of street artists and our work in graphic design – which is why many designers follow this type of art closely. The bold imagery is highly conceptual in nature and often visually clever, which we also aspire to achieve in our work connecting to our clients’ markets on an emotional level.
