New Kindle Ads: The Apple Advertising Legacy Continues
Almost a year ago, we posted a story about the (at the time) new T-Mobile myTouch TV spots, which we believed closely mimicked Apple’s long-running and iconic “Get a Mac” campaign. Now, it seems that Amazon has followed suit with their new Kindle ads.
Just like the two aforementioned brands, the Kindle ads feature two characters bantering about the functionality of the Kindle vs. reading an ordinary book to set up the product benefits contrast in an accessible manner. They even have the same quirky sound track, clean white background, and bright lighting technique of the original Apple ads.
Amazon is known for being a truly innovative brand, but this just seems to overtly fall in Apple’s footsteps… again! Check out one of the new ads below and let us know what you think.
