Double Take! Philosophy vs. Savour

We’re introducing a new blog category called “Double Take,” where we will be showing examples of striking similarities in brand identities. Sometimes these visual connections are accidental or part of a widespread trend, and sometimes they are intentional in instances such as a private label knockoff.

Philosophy is a very well-known skin care line that has had virtually the same identity since they started out in 1996. As far as we know, they were one of the first brands that introduced the trend of utilizing dense, simple copy on the front of the package in the beauty industry. In this instance, not only has Savour lifted Philosophy’s packaging identity, but they have also utilized the same packaging components. Pretty clear case of “mistaken” identity here…
