Dwell on Design 2010

We attended the Dwell on Design event again this weekend, which is the west coast’s largest modern design conference and trade exhibition. Last year, the most prevalent theme was “green” – this year, the overall emphasis on responsibility and sustainability seemed to be a staple. Here are just a few of the trends that were taking place:

Nature: Booth designs and products inspired by natural color palettes and materials.

Reclaimed: Furniture and accessories made from reclaimed materials. Our friend and team member Mark Hannah showed his reclaimed creations at the Thiefit booth.

Pouf: These trendy accessories have been seen in boutiques for awhile but have now made their way into mass market with CB2 recently launching their version.

Antique: Although the show focused on modern aesthetics, antiques were also represented. Two of our favorite exhibitors were Atik and Vintage European Posters.
