Behind the Scenes: Beauty Editorial Photo Shoot

Last week, we completed a series of photographs for the upcoming cover of GCI Magazine. The concept of the shoot was a “behind the scenes” take on a beauty photo shoot, and will accompany the feature article co-written by Jesse Hill and Aniko Hill that discusses the same subject. The shoot included a natural, clean beauty look, a more dramatic evening look, and some working shots that depicted the process of a professional beauty shoot. Jesse led the project as the photographer, Aniko as art director, and the crew included Amanda Riley of Ford Models, Hilla Peer for hair and makeup, and Stephanie Cottle as our photo assistant.

The article, available in August in print and online, will explores the process of producing a professional photo shoot and the important role of photography in a successful brand campaign. Research, professional casting, team members, pre-production, on set schedules and etiquette, location, and post production are discussed.
